About the Presenter

Warren Greene is a native of Gloversville, NY where he still resides with his wife. He has two grown sons and 4 young grandsons.  Warren retired after 34 years with the Fulton County Probation Dept, the last 22 of which he served as the Director.  For the past 8 years Warren has been a Fulton County Supervisor representing his ward in Gloversville. Warren served as the Charman of the Board of Supervisors for his county in 2020.

His lifelong love of nature evolved into his passion for nature photography that began in 1976, shortly after graduating from college. As a boy he was most interested in butterflies and moths and later included an interest in reptiles and amphibians. His attraction to birds developed subsequent to purchasing his first camera, a Nikon FM.  Attempting to reproduce images of birds as well as reproduced in nature magazines soon became lifelong endeavor. He also continues to shoot images of flora and fauna, mostly from the Adirondack region.  A few years into his shooting with slide film he switched his camera brand to Leica which he used until 2014.  At that time, he switched to digital which was a difficult decision since being in front of a computer screen is not something he enjoys but considers essential.  When making the switch to digital Warren also switched back to Nikon which remains his current equipment.

Throughout the years he has been published in various books, magazines, and calendars.  Warren particularly enjoys the interaction that comes from giving presentations to various groups including Audubon, Bird Clubs, and occasionally to colleges. He continues to be encouraged by how many people enjoy his images, which are a reflection of his love of nature.  Warren hopes it inspires his audience to see things in a way that leads to the preservation of what they observe on their own.
